About Zamayirha Peter
Ms Zamayirha, 28, has cultivated an impressive eight-year multimedia journalism and communications career. Passionate about using development communications to empower communities and influence global dialogues, she began in traditional media at age 16.
With contributions to numerous publications such as Huffington Post, City Press, and Malawi National Paper, her work has been recognized by individuals like the CEO of Kulula Airlines, Gidon Novick, Globally renowned Professor William Gumede, Professor Adam Habib, Professor Ruksana Osman, Dr Jerry Mofokeng, the United Nations Secretary Assist Ms. Ahunna Eziakonwa. Institutions like the UNDP, Generation G Global, the World Intellectual Property Organisation, and leading South African universities including the University of Witwatersrand, the University of Stellenbosch, the University of Pretoria, the Nelson Mandela University, and the University of Cape Town.
As a Digital Communications Officer, Zamayirha has worked in six countries, including Zambia, Botswana, Eswatini, Angola, Malawi, and South Africa.
Her broadcasting experience spans talk radio stations with the South African Broadcasting Channel, including Power FM and SA FM, and her roles as a producer and on-air personality for television shows and documentaries.
The highlights of her career encompass interviews with prominent figures like South Africa's Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke and filmmaker Tyler Perry, coverage of high-profile events such as the Oprah Winfrey Nelson Mandela Centenary celebration, and opportunities with major media outlets like The Daily Maverick and BBC Africa. Her multifaceted career testifies to a commitment to development, empowerment, and journalistic integrity.
